With just over a month until the next general election, I wanted to give my constituents the resources available to register to vote or make changes to their voter record. If you are not currently registered to vote, and in order to vote in the November 3rd General Election, you must register to vote no later than Tuesday October 13, 2016 by 5p.m.

Applications for absentee ballots can also be obtained by your county’s Registrar Office. The last day that an absentee ballot application can be accepted by mail is October 27th and October 31st if done so in person. You may also register or update and view your voter record at www.vote.virginia.gov. Remember, a good citizen registers and votes.
Last Wednesday marked the 25th year of “See You at the Pole.” According to the See you at the Pole website, more than 3 million students in more than 20 countries observe the day. “See You at the Pole” started in 1990 through the initiative of a youth group in Burleson, Texas. That year, more than 56,000 students in 1,200 campuses in Texas and three other states held the first “See You at the Pole” in September 1990. “See You at the Pole” is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event. Any positive activity for our youth of the community, I am in full support of.
